Perfect rugby conditions welcomed us to church road on our arrival. The sarries controlled the game for the first 20 mns with some all round good forwards play and backs combining but to no avail. Surely a try was round the corner? A try did come eventually from what seemed as a dead end situation on halfway, through the low setting sun appeared kiwi with ball in hand rounding the player in front and puttng on the burners to race clear and score under the posts, a piece of play Ma’a Nonu would surely be proud of. It was a similar story for next ten mins with the sarries having the ball and frustratingly coming away with no end result. It was a superb bit of individual play from brad harris which got the points going again. A chip through kick and chase from himself allowed him to collect the ball and beat the winger to score in the corner. the last 10 mins saw Cainscross get their hands on the ball and from stupid penalties the sarries conceded just before halftime, going into the break 12 – 7 up.
The 2nd half started the same as the first with the sarries having all the ball and play but with the hill advantage in their favour this half 3 trys came in quick succession through Tom Woods and the try machine pitball winger simmons 4 in 4 now is arkell’s record there for the taking?? the third try was scored by young Matt Williams after good play from brad harris, williams supported brilliantly and scored in the corner. Cainscross again came alive in the last ten mins of the half but this time the sarries held strong and kept them out.
A good win to keep the title chasing aspirations well and truely rolling along. It was an all round team performance with Brad Harris MOM.
